Opening

Wallpaper is a project made specifically for Gallery 101, Ottawa. The curator of the gallery at the time, Jessie Lacayo, asked me to create a mural piece representing Ottawa from the perspective of a new Canadian.

I created a mural piece where metaphors of personal experiences mixed with made up fantasies and contemporary realities combine to present a beautiful pastoral landscape of Ottawa. The head of the state at the top of the painting starts this pyramidal composition where political, historical, contemporary and made-up situation spread through the rest of the space...

The work has since been exhibited in different venues taking different shapes. Presently the original mural has been dissected into individual pieces. Some can be seen in this gallery, some in the How to purchase section of this web site.
